innoPRINT Leipzig 2026 – Print Meets Sustainability – Expertise and Communication

The symposium innoPRINT Leipzig 2026 will take place on 6 November 2026 in the Gutenberg Building of the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK Leipzig). Beatrix Genest of the Sächsisches Institut für die Druckindustrie Leipzig will once again serve as moderator — however, unlike in previous years, this year's event will be held on a Friday afternoon, under the guiding theme "Print Meets Sustainability – Expertise and Communication."

The program opens with Anna Lutz and Julia Rohmann of the German Printing and Media Industries Federation (Bundesverband Druck und Medien e. V.), presenting "Communicating Sustainability — the Right Way: An Overview of EmpCo Requirements." This will be followed by Thomas Rätzke of Umweltdruckhaus Hannover GmbH, speaking on "Communicating Sustainability Credibly: The EmpCo Directive as an Opportunity for Print." The third presentation will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Lutz Engisch of HTWK Leipzig, covering "SiP – Sustainability in Printing – A Standardised CO₂ Footprint Calculation for Print and Packaging." Hendrik Kleinfeldt of LasX Industries, Inc. will then present "Large-Format, High-Resolution – Decorating Packaging with Innovative Laser Technology."

The program will conclude with the "Ideas from Research" segment, featuring the latest findings from HTWK students and graduates.
