The Symposium „Printing and Processing“ 2022

Successful collaborative event held at the end of November.

With an agenda consisting of 16 exciting expert lectures, both the organisers and the participants of the symposium, which took place in Leipzig, Germany from 29 to 30 November 2022, had ambitious plans.

But it was worth it: For the organisers, consisting of the Faculty of Computer Science and Media at the University of Applied Sciences Leipzig (HTWK), the Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS) Heidenau and the Sächsisches Institut für die Druckindustrie (SID) Leipzig, who had been planning a joint symposium for two years but had to postpone it again and again for obvious reasons. Until the very end, the agenda had to be adapted in order to find short-term replacements for speakers who were unable to attend. Because of the time and effort that went into the preparations, the participants were unaware of any difficulties and it was a successful event for them as well, with a lot of feedback on the     announced topics.

Most participants took advantage of the guided tour offered at the end of the first day of the event to visit the Faculty of Computer Science and Media at HTWK Leipzig. Almost all of them met again later at the dinner held at the Bayerischer Bahnhof, where, as expected, there were many opportunities for professional and personal exchange.

The concept of this cooperative event, which aimed to improve networking and cross-value-added exchange among the participants, was a success. It provided a platform for the paper, printing and converting industries to exchange ideas and develop their networks.

The positive feedback also encouraged the organisers, who in any case were already planning a follow-up event.

We thank all speakers and participants who contributed to the success of this symposium and look forward to seeing you again next time.
